“The Raid” baddie Ray Sahetapy confirms he’s not appearing in “Captain America: Civil War”

“Captain America: Civil War” is going to be every Marvel fanboy’s fantasy, what with the fight between Captain America and Iron Man as well as the introductions of a couple of new superheroes like Spider-Man and Black Panther to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What we’re not getting, however, is an appearance from Indonesian actor Ray Sahetapy.

Sahetapy, known for his role as the badass crime lord Tama in “The Raid”, last year confirmed that he had a role in “Civil War”. However, he recently said that he’s not appearing in this particular Marvel movie after all.

“They are going to offer me [a role in] another movie. There are several films, but we’ll see. I’m still tired,” Sahetapy told Kompas over the weekend.

Sahetapy was previously tight-lipped about his role in “Civil War”, but IMDB listed him as an “auctioneer” in an uncredited role. So if his appearance was cut out from the movie, it probably wasn’t that big of a role to begin with – it certainly couldn’t have been more than Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian’s super brief appearances in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

If you still want to watch “Civil War” for its superheroes and not Ray Sahetapy, the movie is coming out in Indonesia on April 27.
