Will you be one of the lucky 50,000 or so to score a ticket to Coldplay’s hotly-anticipated Jakarta concert amid widespread talks of a “ticket war”?
Soon after the British alternative rockers announced their Nov. 15 Jakarta date yesterday, fans on social media were equal parts buzzing and dreading having to compete with others to score tickets to the show.

Today, the concert’s promoters, PK Entertainment, gave us some idea as to how competitive that would be.
“What’s certain is that we will be able to accommodate more than 50,000 people for this concert,” PK Entertainment co-founder and COO Harry Sudarma told CNN Indonesia.
The concert’s venue, the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium in Senayan, has a seating capacity of 77,193.
Tickets will go on sale exclusively at www.coldplayinjakarta.com, starting with a pre-sale period exclusive to BCA customers on May 17 and 18, before a general sale on May 19. Ticket sales will commence at 10am on each of those dates. More information on prices, ticket categories and layouts will be available soon.
Harry stressed that tickets will not be available through other platforms.
“There will be no special access [to buying tickets]. Everyone will have equal chance,” he said.
The Jakarta concert is a new addition to the Asia and Oceania leg of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour, which is scheduled to wrap up in Kuala Lumpur on Nov. 22.
