Still from “Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten: Cambodia’s Lost Rock and Roll”
Dutch Cultural Center Erasmus Huis just wrapped up their Erasmus Documentary Film Festival, which went from September 6-13, providing a very refreshing change of pace from the blockbuster Hollywood films that usually fill our cineplexes.
Over the course of a week, they showed 39 very different documentaries from all over the world, ranging in topic from drone warfare to motorcycle racing.
We especially enjoyed the festival’s selection of musical documentaries this year. Two of the best we saw were “Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten: Cambodia’s Lost Rock and Roll” and “Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown”
The next event for Erasmus Huis is the Antilles Festival, coming up next Saturday, offering guests a taste of the Caribbean, which is definitely one type of cuisine you can’t find elsewhere in Jakarta. We’ll bring you more info on that later this week.
