We questioned whether the case involving actress Jessica Iskandar and a hair stylist in Kota Kasablanka should be considered sexual harassment at all. But if we believe the words of Jessica’s lawyer, then there is no doubt that the 27-year-old actress was indeed sexually harassed at the hair salon.
Brian Praneda, Jessica’s lawyer, said Jessica was so upset that she was in tears when she reported her hair stylist – identified as Najib in the police report – to the Jakarta Police on the night of the incident.
Brian said Jessica was only draped in a towel as she was being massaged by Najib. She was reading a magazine when he filmed her chest using a camera phone.
“I saw the CCTV footage, Jessica was only wearing a towel,” Brian said, as quoted by Detik today.
“The culprit just filmed her. And then Jessica found out when he was playing back his recording. [Jessica was wondering] why she wasn’t being massaged. When she looked in the mirror, the culprit was watching [his recording]. Jessica then snatched the phone.”
Jessica was extremely upset but eventually retracted her police report when Najib’s wife and child came to the police station.
“She thought that she didn’t want to take the father away from his child. She felt sorry for him, and the culprit apologized to Jessica,” Brian said.
