American electronic dance singer Lauv, famous for the hit pop song I Like Me Better, has cancelled his concert in Jakarta that had been scheduled for Friday concert over fears of unrest in the capital caused by post-election protests.
The singer shared the bad news via his Twitter account today, saying that the cancellation “…breaks my heart, but I love you guys and I gotta make sure that everybody’s safe who’s coming to the show and my entire team is safe.”

That said, Lauv promised his fans that he would reschedule the show and will keep them posted for further updates.
Lauv was scheduled to perform at the Tennis Indoor stadium in Senayan, Central Jakarta, tomorrow evening. The concert promoters also apologized for the cancellation and have promised to reschedule the show.
“As for information regarding refunds of tickets, we will announce that in the near future through the official website lauvjakarta.com,” the promoter said in a press release, as picked up by CNN Indonesia.
Lauv is certainly no stranger to Jakarta, having headlined the Java Jazz festival in March 2018.
The singer is currently in the middle of an Asian tour, which includes stops in Singapore, Bangkok, Manila and Hong Kong this month.
