We’ve seen our fair share of Indonesian wedding bands covering Jason Mraz songs (often awkwardly) during wedding receptions. But one newlywed couple, Abram Suhardiman and Jessica Riady, went the whole nine yards and brought in Mr. A-Z himself to sing at their wedding over the weekend.
Kapanlagi reported that the singer from San Diego played at the couple’s wedding ceremony in Hotel Mulia Senayan. Not much is known about the groom, but according to Kapanlagi, Jessica Riady comes from the affluent Riady family, which owns Lippo Group.
Of course, not many people knew about Jason Mraz’s performance in Jakarta, given that it was for a private function, but some of the reception’s guests posted images of the singer wooing the audience on Instagram:
So how much would it cost to get a globally recognized recording artist to play at your wedding? Well, according to Celebritytalent.net, Mraz’s minimum fee for international shows is anywhere between US$500,000 to $1 million.
That’s an insane amount to spend on a wedding singer, for sure. We can think of so many more constructive uses for that money. But hey, everybody’s entitled to spend their money however they want, so we wish the newlywed couple at least has as much happiness in their marriage as they had overblown extravangance at their wedding.
