International Musical Theater Sensation Stomp Coming to Jakarta Oct 1-6

Stomp started out in the early 1990s in Brighton, England, and has gone on to become one of the most popular musical theater acts in history, performing in front of some 15 million people in over 50 countries. And the next city they’re stomping on is Jakarta.

Stomp’s is most famous for taking everyday items such as trash cans, boxes, bags and even the human body and turning them into percussion instruments. But their shows, which lack any dialogue, also combine elements of dance, pantomime and comedy into a winning formula that has been winning Stomp awards and packed audiences for over 20 years.

For those who might have caught Stomp before in another country, the Jakarta performance promises two new routines, “Frogs” and “Trolleys,” which were introduced in 2013. So unless you’ve seen them lately, there’s still plenty of reasons to see them again.

Stomp will be performing at Teater Jakarta in Taman Ismail Marzuki, from October 1-6. Tickets prices start at Rp. 700k and can be purchased through Ismaya.com or Bobobobo.com.
