We know some of you are disappointed that you won’t be able to watch the BDSM blockbuster 50 Shades of Grey in Indonesian theaters. But how far would you go to be able to watch the erotic movie in cinemas?
Indonesian media outlets such as Detik and Tempo reported that the movie piqued the interest of actress Nia Ramadhani – who also happens to be Golkar Party Chairman Aburizal Bakrie’s daughter in law – so much that she flew to Singapore just to watch it.
Is there any truth to the media’s shady assumption?
Yes, Nia Ramadhani was in Singapore recently and yes, she did post a couple of tweets as she was about to watch the movie with a friend at a cinema:
But nowhere in those tweets did Nia specify that she specifically went to Singapore just to watch 50 Shades. Who knows, maybe she just happened to be in Singapore at the time and just happened to watch the movie while she was there?
Frankly, this is borderline character defamation by some Indonesian media outlets as they are suggesting the actress was willing to go to great lengths to watch a movie that would be considered sinful to watch by many in Indonesia.
