Indonesian Instagram celebrity Edèlenyi Laura Anna passed away this afternoon after spending the last two years of her life paralyzed due to a traffic accident. She was 21 years old.

News of Laura’s death was confirmed by her older sister, Greta Irene, via an Instagram story.

“My beloved younger sister Edelenyi Laura Anna passed away at 09:22am. I ask for your prayers and forgiveness if my younger sister made mistakes during her life, thank you,” Greta wrote.

Laura’s official cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.

Laura became paralyzed from a spinal cord injury she sustained in a car accident with her ex-boyfriend, Gaga Muhammad, in December 2019. Gaga was reportedly driving under the influence, and crashed the car into a truck.

Shortly after the incident, Gaga set up a Kitabisa page calling for donations to help Laura’s recovery — for which they received massive public backlash as the former couple were known for displaying their lavish lifestyle online.

However, Gaga, who sustained minor injuries from the incident, allegedly neglected Laura and did not even take care of her medical expenses.

After almost two years since the accident, Laura sued Gaga for negligent driving and causing her injuries, which could see him imprisoned for up to five years. Amid an ongoing trial, Gaga has been in the custody of the East Jakarta Police since early November.

During her quest for justice, Laura received widespread support from numerous high-profile Instacelebs as well as celebrities, including famous couple Raffi Ahmad-Nagita Slavina and Nikita Mirzani, among others.

Only a week ago, Laura appeared as a guest on Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast Close The Door, where she talked about her struggles with her physical and mental state post-incident as well as her fight to get justice from Gaga.
