Indonesian comedian Kiky Saputri and influencer Boy William have gone and upset Blinks (Blackpink fans) in the country with their ice cream, chilin’ cold take on Jennie.
In case you don’t care for K-pop, Blackpink held back-to-back packed-to-the-brim shows at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium in Jakarta last weekend.
On Wednesday, Kiky posted a video of her deep and personal chat with Boy on her YouTube page. At one point in the conversation, Boy offered his review of Blackpink’s concert.
“I don’t know why, but why did Jennie come off like she was lazy, right? Like she was tired,” he said.
“Jennie is like a kid who’s been told to read the Quran when she doesn’t want to. So it’s like she reads it lazily,” Kiky replied.
Indonesian Blinks took offense to their idol being besmirched. On Kiky’s Instagram, her posts are flooded by Blackpink fans accusing her and Boy of “bullying” Jennie and lacking sympathy for her.
“Do they think [Blackpink] is only doing concerts in Indonesia? [Jennie] is human, too, and she can get exhausted. And real Blinks know [why Jennie appeared tired in Jakarta],” one user wrote, referencing Jennie’s history of panic attacks.
Boy’s Instagram account, @boywilliam17, which previously had 5.1 million followers, is no longer accessible this afternoon.
Kiky, meanwhile, posted a story on Instagram today defending herself.
“Nobody was bullying Jennie. Having an opinion and bullying are different,” she wrote, before giving examples to illustrate her point.
“1. Why isn’t Kiky that funny today? It’s like she’s a kid who hasn’t eaten in two days. 2. Kiky thinks she’s so funny when she isn’t. Not to mention she is so ugly with that monkey face. Her teeth stick out from eating so much shit.
“So kids, do you understand the difference between having an opinion and bullying? So who likes to bully? Me or you?”
