It’s a big day for Indonesian YouTube megastar Atta Halilintar and his wife, singer Aurel Hermansyah as they welcome their first child today.

The 27-year-old vlogger posted a photo of him holding his daughter’s little fingers, nicknamed Baby A, on his Instagram page.

“22-2-2022 🥺😭 The angel of my life 🖤,” Atta wrote in the caption.

At the moment, Baby A’s full name has yet to be disclosed by their parents, possibly saved for a big reveal moment that will be either streamed live on YouTube or aired on TV like that of celebrity couples such as Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina’s second son Baby R (Rayyanza) or dangdut singer Lesti Kejora and sinetron (soap opera) actor Rizky Billar’s first son Baby L (Leslar).

As per tradition of major celebrity families in Indonesia nowadays, Atta and Aurel documented their preparation prior to Baby A’s birth in numerous daily vlogs uploaded on the former’s YouTube channel, which currently has 29.2 million subscribers.

The video was titled, “INI KAMAR KELAHIRAN BABY A.. ATTA PESAN 1 LANTAI RUMAH SAKIT!!!” (This is Baby A’s delivery room… Atta booked an entire floor of the hospital!!!) which premiered on Sunday. As the title suggests, the couple took their viewers for Aurel’s check-up and toured the four rooms they booked at a mother and child hospital in Central Jakarta.

The doctor that accompanied Aurel and Atta said that the couple had booked the entire hospital wing, comprising four large suites and VIP rooms for themselves and their baby as well as their family members.

Atta explained that as one room was designated for two people, the four rooms were for Aurel’s mother, Indonesian diva Krisdayanti and her family, nicknamed The Lemos (sic); The Hermansyah (sic), consisting of Aurel’s father Anang and stepmother Ashanti; The Halilintars; and for the new family themselves, who Atta referred to as The Atta (sic).

Due to the hospital’s policy, which follows the Level 3 of the four-tiered Enforcement of Restrictions on Public Activities (PPKM) protocol currently enforced in Jakarta and its satellite cities, Atta and Aurel weren’t able to accept guests despite having booked the entire floor.

The video was met with mixed reactions from netizens, with many suggesting that the couple went over-the-top and that they could have deprived the hospital’s facilities from others who might need them. Some said that Atta and Aurel booking the entire floor reflects inequality in welfare and favoritism in hospital policies.

Others who defended the couple opined that Atta was just being a responsible father, and that the rooms they rented were just a few of the VIP facilities, which shouldn’t have maxxed out the hospital’s capacity.

It’s not just the public that’s had an unhealthy obsession with Aurel’s pregnancy. Prior to Baby A’s birth, Atta’s father Halilintar Anofial Asmid received considerable backlash online last week after he was heard telling Aurel to give birth normally in a video reportedly uploaded on Gen Halilintar’s YouTube channel, which appears to have been taken down. He suggested to his daughter-in-law that Aurel should be relaxed before her labor so that she can undergo a normal birthing process instead of undergoing the C-section, so that Atta can later have many kids.

Atta has since stated that he would value Aurel as a mother whatever delivery method she chooses. In the end, Aurel had a C-section for Baby A’s birth, as a video of her going into labor that was posted today shows.

In May of last year, Atta was accused of commercializing Aurel’s miscarriage for views, in which the couple tearfully told their audience that they had lost their baby after a few weeks of pregnancy. Despite that video, many also appear sympathetic toward Aurel throughout this ordeal, as she had been on the receiving end of Atta’s overexposure of their life as a newly-married couple at that time.

Around a month before that video, Atta was condemned for his rather conservative views of marriage, which included takes like “a husband’s voice is the voice of God” and that he wanted dozens of children from his wife.
