The internet is full of nasty surprises and people, including someone who publicly spouted vile comments about someone else’s baby.

That person has been identified by her initials LAB, a woman who claims to be a nurse and who has been trolling actress Shandy Aulia and her 16-month-old daughter, Claire, online, alleging that the little girl is malnourished and has growth deficiencies.

Shandy, who often posts about Claire and her parenting style to her 6.8 million followers, has often been on the receiving end of negative comments about her parenting, but it appears that she’s finally had enough and will be taking legal action against LAB.

Yesterday, celebrity lawyer Hotman Paris took to Instagram to announce that he will assist Shandy in her lawsuit against LAB, who reportedly lives in the North Sulawesi capital of Manado.

Shandy began to spark online discussions about parenting among netizens after she started complementary feeding for Claire when she was four months old, which is younger than the suggested age of six months old. Despite claiming that she was given permission to do so by Claire’s pediatrician, Shandy received flak for feeding her daughter an avocado puree sweetened with honey, which could be dangerous if given to children below 1 year old.

The 34-year-old celebrity previously said that she wouldn’t report any netizens who accuse Claire of being malnourished, but LAB might have gone overboard when she called out both the mother and daughter.

In an Instagram comment, LAB accused Shandy of being in denial, even after netizens warned her of Claire’s possible malnourishment, especially when observing the child’s weight and “corn hair,” referring to thin hair akin to corn silk. LAB also went as far as providing an unsolicited diagnosis of Claire, saying her growth may be stunted and warned that she might suffer from learning difficulties in the future.

On top of that, LAB also hurled insults against Shandy’s husband and mother. In a since-deleted post, Shandy posted several screenshots of LAB’s comments on Instagram and Facebook, asking her followers to give her more information about the nurse.

“Shandy Aulia will take legal action against a woman, a nurse in Manado who allegedly said disgraceful, indecent words against her daughter on social media,” Hotman said in the Instagram post.

Online hate speech and defamation are serious crimes in Indonesia. If convicted, LAB may face up to six years in prison under the Information and Electronic Transactions Act (UU ITE).
