You may have guessed from our previous coverage of “Headshot”, an extreme action movie directed by the Mo Brothers and starring Iko Uwais from “The Raid” fame, that we have been really, really eagerly anticipating this film.
Well, great news for us and other fans of bone-crunching hand-to-hand action sequences: “Headshot” is finally debuting in Indonesian cinemas today!
The anticipation in Indonesia seems to be really high as the hashtag #Headshot812 (with 812 signifying today’s date and/or a cheeky reference to the 212 mass protest) became one of the trending topics on social media in Indonesia today.
We have been waiting for this day ever since “Headshot” earned rave reviews from critics after it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Will it be as legendary as “The Raid” and its sequel? We’ll find out soon.
Meanwhile, the latest trailer for “Headshot” also dropped two days ago, just in case you need any more convincing to go see the movie:
The film features Iko playing a patient, called Ishmael, who wakes up without any memories after suffering a bullet to the head and is nursed back to health by a doctor named Ailin, played by Chelsea Islan. Ishmael is forced to fight an army of criminals from his former life in order to save Ailin after she is kidnapped.
