Whether you are an aviation geek, fashionista, or both, you might want to get your hands on this special collection from flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, in collaboration with fashion and lifestyle retailer The Goods Dept.
The collection will be released on Indonesia’s 76th Independence Day this coming Tuesday, and the thematic merchandise is inspired by Garuda’s classic logo, which decorated its fleet between 1970 and 1985. The airline was previously known as Garuda Indonesian Airways before it rebranded as Garuda Indonesia.
Several items in the collection include a unisex bomber jacket adorned with emblems and a flight tag on the arm, a tote bag, and a duffel bag, which will be available on The Goods Dept’s website and Garuda’s online shop, GarudaShop.

Garuda Indonesia CEO Irfan Setiaputra took time out from his undeniably busy schedule to keep the troubled airline alive by saying that he hopes that the launch of the collection will “awaken the spirit of nationalism” within Indonesians, while also inspiring the youth to get creative.
“By presenting the vintage feel of the Garuda Indonesia logo, the launch can also represent Garuda Indonesia’s role and positive contribution in the history of the Indonesian nation, especially in bridging the needs of the people’s mobility and logistics throughout Indonesia in order to drive the regional economy as a vehicle of national development,” Irfan said in a statement.
Anton Wirjono, The Goods Dept’s founder and CEO, said the retailer wants to inspire nationalism in Indonesia’s youngsters through this collaboration.
“The collaboration between The Goods Dept and Garuda Indonesia is also a form of commitment to support the national movement of evoking pride in [using] quality domestic products,” Anton said.
