Marshmello is more than just another DJ trying to emulate legends like Deadmau5 and Daft Punk by wearing a giant gimmick mask. A genuine mystery man (his true identity remains a secret, although it’s rumored he’s American DJ Chris Comstock), Marshmello burst onto the scene in 2015 with hot remixes of songs by Jack Ü and Zedd. Since then he’s collaborated with everybody from Skrillex to Tiësto as well as racked up numerous awards and over 3 million Facebook fans thanks to his groovy synth and bass-heavy EDM. If you’ve been in a club anytime in the last six month you’ve no doubt heard his bouncy 2016 megahit “Alone”.
The masked Marshmello will be playing this Thursday at Ismaya’s newly established The Establishment in SCBD’s Lot 6. He’s fitting his Jakarta set in between turns in Bali and Bangkok and if you’re an EDM fan this is sure to be a packed, crowd-pleasing show.
