After years of performing in Asia but always having skipped Jakarta, English rock band Foals kept their Indonesian fans waiting patiently for a chance to see them perform in the capital.
This time, however, Foals fans won’t have to go to neighboring countries just to see their favorite band playing. On Twitter, the band announced today that they will be playing in Jakarta for the first time ever. The concert will be held on March 10, 2020 at Gelora Bung Karno’s Basketball Hall in Senayan, Central Jakarta.

Tickets will be on sale starting this Thursday at 1pm on the band’s official website.
The concert is part of their world tour Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost promoting Foals’ recent two-part studio album of the same name — Part 1 released in March and Part 2 in October. Before heading to Jakarta, the band is scheduled to perform at the Garden Beats Festival in Singapore on Feb. 29 and the Wanderland Festival in Manila on Mar. 7-8.
Hailing from Oxford, Foals was formed in 2005 with members who were initially in different bands. The band is made up of frontman Yannis Philippakis and drummer Jack Bevan (who were in cult math rock band The Edmund Fitzgerald), keyboardist Edwin Congreave, and guitarist Jimmy Smith.
Foals have released six studio albums so far: Antidotes (2008), Total Life Forever (2010), Holy Fire (2013), What Went Down (2015), and Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1 & 2 (2019), along with a video album and six EPs. In October, Foals released a documentary titled Rip Up The Road on Amazon Prime that documented their year-long world tour.
For over a decade, Foals have been touring internationally and playing at leading music festivals, including Glastonbury, Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Roskilde.
Foals was the recipient of the UK-based Q Awards’ Best Act in the World Today in 2015 and NME Awards’ Best Album in 2016 for What Went Down. Three of their albums have been nominated for the Mercury Prize over the years, while their song, Spanish Sahara, was also nominated for the Ivor Novello Awards in 2010.
