Ed Sheeran cancels November 9 Jakarta concert and several other Asian tour dates, citing medical problems

It’s a sad day for Indonesian fans of famed English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who were very much anticipating his Jakarta concert scheduled for November 9. Many of them had lined up for hours to grab tickets to his first Indonesia gig, which sold out in less than 24 hours, but it looks like they’re going to have to wait a lot longer to see him here live.

Sheeran was set to start his Asian tour with shows in Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong and Jakarta, but due to medical complications from a bicycle accident he had in London last week, all of those concerts have been canceled, according to a release from

Some of Sheeran’s fans in Asia will still get to hear him sing live as his November 11 concert in Singapore, as well as subsequent shows Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Mumbai and Dubai, will still go ahead as planned. His concerts in Osaka, Tokyo and Manila have been rescheduled for April 2018.

Sheeran took to Facebook to post a video apologizing for the cancellations and delays and promised that he would try to play in the cities he couldn’t make it to this year as soon as possible.

The official ticketing partner for Sheeran’s Jakarta concert, Book My Show, said those who purchased tickets will be able to get refunds starting on Nov. 3.
