One of the biggest dance and electronic music festivals in Asia, Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP), is set to return to Jakarta after the festival was held in Bali for its 10th anniversary last year. The 11th edition of DWP will be held on December 13-15 at JIExpo Kemayoran in Central Jakarta.

Music promoter Ismaya Live announced the first phase of the festival’s lineup at a press conference today. While it still remains to be seen if this year’s lineup can top DWPX in Bali (which was headlined by The Weeknd and Major Lazer, among others), this first phase alone already boasts numerous major international acts among its headliners.

The first among them is Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris, who has a long list of club hits and has collaborated with such stars as Rihanna, Kylie Minogue, Pharrell Williams, and Ariana Grande. This would mark his third performance in the capital as he previously performed at Ismaya Group’s Blowfish club in 2010 and also DWP in 2012.

Next up is Martin Garrix, the Dutch DJ who topped the Top 100 DJs list by electronic music publication DJ Mag for three consecutive years until 2018. This year’s DWP would be Garrix’s third appearance at the festival, as he previously performed in 2016 and 2018.

Russian-German DJ and record producer Zedd will return to DWP for the second time. Zedd, real name Anton Zaslavski, is the man behind many hits such as Stay with Alessia Cara and The Middle featuring Maren Morris and Grey. According to Ismaya Live’s brand manager Sarah Deshita, Jakartans top the list of Zedd listeners from all over the world on Spotify.

The fourth headliner is American EDM/dubstep DJ Skrillex, who’s known for being one of the key artists to popularizing the dubstep genre. Skrillex previously performed under his real name, Sonny Moore, with post-hardcore band From First to Last in the early 2000s. The Grammy-winning DJ previously performed at DWP in 2014.

The other DJs and musicians in the lineup come from a diverse array of genres: Dutch Trance DJ Jeffrey Sutorious AKA Dash Berlin, English DJ Jonas Blue, French DJ/singer-songwriter Martin Solveig, Dutch DJ and electronic music producer Oliver Heldens, Dutch DJ-producer-remixer R3HAB, Bosnian-born Swedish DJ Salvatore Ganacci, and Dutch DJ duo Yellow Claw.

Also announced as part of the first phase lineup is a special stage by Barcelona-based touring party organizers Elrow. They performed at DWP in 2017 for a special stage show called Psychedelic Trip. This year, they’ll create the experience of getting trapped inside a legendary sea monster Kraken with a show called El Triangulo de las Rowmudas.

You may need to hurry if you want to buy specially priced early bird tickets as they are likely to run out fast. Tickets for 1-day, 3-day, VIP Gold, group package, travel package (for festival-goers from outside Jakarta or Indonesia) as well as VVIP Sofa are available on DWP’s official website and offline at several Ismaya restaurants. International festival-goers may get their tickets via online ticketing platforms such as Festground, Ticketek, Festicket, and iFlyer.

The prices (before 25% tax) start at IDR1.4 million (US$99.6) for 3-day early admission passes (which require ticket holders to arrive at the venue before 7pm) and go up to a package of 3-day VIP Gold tickets plus 3-night stays at Holiday Inn Express Kemayoran priced at IDR14.1 million (US$1,003) for two people.
