Big news for Disney fans and musical theater aficionados – the House of Mouse’s much beloved, Broadway musical version of “Beauty and the Beast” is coming to Jakarta in just a few months.

At a press conference earlier today, the musical’s promoters claimed it would be the first full Broadway production staged in Indonesia. The international touring production of “Beauty and the Beast” includes 60 performers and around 60 tons of equipment, including the imaginative Tony Award winning costumes of Ann Hould-Ward.
This international tour production of “Beauty and the Beast” recently did a successful series of shows in Manila and is currently running in Bangkok. It will head to Singapore before it’s opening night in Jakarta.
Hopefully the production will be a big success and lead to more Broadway musical productions making their way to Jakarta.
