Inul Vizta: Not so family-friendly after all?
Spend some time in any of Indonesia’s major cities, chances are you will spot an Inul Vizta karaoke chain. Inul Vizta, owned by dangdut legend Inul Daratista, has always been known as a wholesome, “family-friendly” karaoke chain.
That is, until a Satpol PP unit conducted a surprise inspection at one Inul Vizta chain in Tangerang on Sunday. The Satpol PP found that this particular chain provided alcohol and female escorts to its customers.
Inul Daratista was shocked to hear the news. She claimed her karaoke chain would never provide such services.
“I checked as well. There are no female escorts because I hate female escorts,” said Inul Daratista today, as quoted by Liputan 6.
Inul said she would close down any of her karaoke bars if they broke her rules.
“They say there were prostitutes in my [karaoke chain]. I can say for sure there wasn’t. If there was, I’ll fire them myself, and I’ll shut down the business without any instructions from the regional government,” she said.
“I know the rules behind the karaoke business. I will never provide alcohol and female escorts.”
We don’t know about female escorts, but surely alcohol is openly served at Inul Vizta chains?
