Last year’s Brightspot Market 10
Nowadays, pop-up markets filled young creative entrepreneurs selling everything from couture fashion to fried chicken are a regular thing. But back before the 2010s, the idea was pretty much unheard of in Jakarta. That was until. the original pop-up market, Brightspot, “the curated market of all things cool,” took the capital’s hipsters by storm in 2009 with their first event.
As the moth of pop-ups, Brightspot attempts to get bigger and better every year. Take a gander at the above video from last year’s Brightspot 10.
Well Brightspot is back this weekend, but this time it’s not just a market but a whole street fair, barely contained under two giant tents. Tonight it’ll only be open to BNI card holders and those with VIP passes, but starting tomorrow until Sunday it’s open to the public (ticket prices Rp 30k).

Rather than tell you about all the things we’re excited to see, buy and eat at this year’s Brightspot, how about we just show you?
