Cosplay superstar Vampy Bit Me will be one of the special guests at ITGCC
As comic book movies continue to rule the box office and video game makers bring in more money than Hollywood, all things once considered nerdy are now becoming mainstream. So it’s no surprise that Jakarta is getting yet another geek culture convention to satisfy the capital’s crazy fanboys and girls. And the Indonesia Toy, Game & Comic Convention (ITGCC), taking place for the first time ever this weekend, is set to be one of the biggest and most ambitious geekouts we’ve ever seen.

A spinoff of the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention, ITGCC is organized by some of the same people behind America’s legendary New York Comic-Con and Penny Arcade Expo. And they’ve stuffed just about everything a good geek could hope for into the JIExpo enter in Kebayoran.
There will be the requisite cosplay competition (with a grand prize of Rp. 4.7 million in cash).

There will be a ton of new and exclusive toys for collectors to salivate over.

There will be some very special guests, including cosplay goddesses Vampy Bit Me

Toy designer J★RYU

And Marvel Comics superstar C.B. Cebulski (who will be looking at portfolios from local artists who are interested in working for Marvel).

All awesome stuff, but we have a feeling that one particular aspect of this convention will prove especially popular with Jakarta’s ladies: the city’s very first pop-up butler cafe, in which you can be served by, play games and take photos with these fellows:
