Controversy over rock band Souqy’s new song, ‘Autis’ (sign a petition here to get it pulled off the air)

New rock band Souqy has burst onto the scene for all the wrong reasons with their song, ‘Autis’.

Rock band Souqy’s new song, ‘Autis’, has been deemed offensive to those with autism and it’s causing an uproar on social media. In the song, a girl is described as ‘autistic’ for being unreceptive towards a man’s advances.

Ikhwatul Khairiyah launched a petition on Change.org to get the band’s record label, Nagaswara Music Corp, to pull the song altogether from distribution. Furthermore, both the band and the record label are expected to make a public apology over the distasteful song.

You can help Ikhwatul’s cause by signing the petition here.

At the time of writing, 970 people have signed the petition, which was only launched yesterday.

Below is just some of the Twitter rage caused by the song:

I appreciate your desire to be creative. But the song ‘Autis’ is very inappropriate and it saddens [me]

Radio stations better not give this ‘Autis’ song any airtime, [if the radio stations did] then you have no heart just like @SouQy_Band. Autism made into a joke

This Souqy band and their song titled Autis. I read the lyrics, how very moronic. They don’t deserve to be in the music industry. [They’re] sick! They have no heart.
