The biggest annual art fair in all of Indonesia, Bazaar Art Jakarta, starts today (by invitation only, starting tomorrow it’s open and FREE to the public). It’s a must-visit for anybody interested in getting an overview of what’s going on in Indonesia’s contemporary art scene.
Now in its 7th year, Bazaar Art Jakarta is being held in its usual location in the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta Pacific Place Ballroom, a huge venue which last year was able to hold 1,350 pieces of art from 530 artists. Expect a similarly vast collection this year, selected by Enin Supriyanto, one of Indonesia’s most renowned art curators.
In addition to the works of Indonesian artists, creators from around Asia and Europe will also have their works showcased at the Bazaar, everything from paintings and sculptures to photographs and walk-through installations.
In addition to the main exhibition, there will also be talks from art experts and art installations around Pacific Place Mall.
