This annual music & arts festival always has an eclectic lineup but for its 8th edition they’ve got a dynamite group of musicians on deck including local indie heroes such as The Sigit, Sore, Mondo Gascaro and White Shoes & The Couples Company as well as Brooklyn shoe gazers Beach Fossils and UK singer-songwriter Novo Amor. Unmasked is one of Jakarta’s best and most inclusive poetry events. Run by a crew of veteran poets, it is also very open to anybody looking to share their words with the audience. This Saturday’s event, titled Spectrum, will focus on the theme of gender and will also feature a musical performance by acclaimed indie musician Kartika Jahja.

Celebrates Women’s Lib with this Sinema Feminis screening and discussion (Saturday)

In honor of this week’s International Women’s Day, and last Sunday’s Academy Awards, Jakarta Cinema Club will be screening the 1995 Oscar winner for Best Foreign Film, Antonia’s Line, which was the the first movie directed by a woman to earn that honor. The movie will be followed by a discussion with Mariana Amiruddin (Komnas Perempuan) and Anastasia Sijabat (Jakarta Cinema Club).

Rock out with Dutch duo Storsky (Saturday)

Storsky is a hard rock project started by Dutch vocalist and guitarist Michiel Claessen. Low frequency, grunting guitar riffs over killer grooves, topping off with falsetto vocals form their signature sound. They’ll be playing this Saturday at the Dutch cultural center Erasmuis Haus and entrance is free!
