Few would have guessed it, but Alec Baldwin’s first TV interview since the reported accidental shooting at his movie set is scheduled to air in Indonesia this evening, hosted by former Indonesian ambassador to the US Dino Patti Djalal.
Dino yesterday tweeted a promo for the interview, which will air live on online streaming platform Mola TV at 7pm WIB (Western Indonesian Time) today.
Coconuts has reached out to Dino for comment, who only told us to tune in to Mola TV and catch the interview as per scheduled. As of publication time, the former ambassador has not disclosed to us whether or not he plans to discuss the shooting with Baldwin during the interview. Dino also did not respond to our query on whether Baldwin was booked for the interview before or after the shooting.
Judging by Dino’s “This should be interesting” tease in his tweet, however, it seems that the topic of the shooting will indeed come up.
It’s worth noting that some of the biggest names in Hollywood have been interviewed on this program, including Francis Ford Coppola and John Travolta.
On Oct. 21, Baldwin accidentally shot dead cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza at the set for the Western film Rust. Baldwin was reportedly rehearsing with a gun he had been told did not contain live ammunition.
With investigation into the case ongoing, the tragedy has raised concerns about film set safety and how firearms are used in films.
The Academy Award nominee has not appeared in any televised interviews since the incident, thus far opting to express his grief via social media.
The production of Rust has been suspended until further notice.
