8-bit awesomeness on the go at “Angkutan” pixel art exhibition (Until Sept 27)

If you’re an art aficionado or a gamer geek (or both!) then you need to head down to the recently opened Ruci Art Space on Jalan Suryo to check out this awesome solo exhibition from Indonesian pixel art pioneer Oomleo, the alter ego of artist Narpati Awangga.

Re-interpreting Oomleo’s childhood memories of cars and movement through the lens of Nintendo games and 8-bit graphics, “Angkutan” features digital art with a distinct personality and handcrafted appeal.

..besok malam! ..oomleo – “ANGKUTAN” di @ruci.art ..seperti as usual: tak hadir maka tak welcome!

The exhibition opens tonight with a perfectly matched performance by the always awesome synthpop group Goodnight Electric. But if you can’t make it tonight, you’ve still got a month to check out “Angkutan.”
