5 Cool Things To Do in Jakarta This Weekend (Oct 14-16)

Pig out at the Pork & Roll food and beer festival at Central Park

While pork eaters make up a relatively small percentage of Jakarta’s population, they are almost all passionate about their love of all things babi. One of the very few events in Jakarta aimed just at them takes place this weekend at Central Park Mall in Tanjung Duren. This will be the 3rd edition of the Pork & Roll food festival and since it’s taking place in October, beer will also be a big part of the festivities. You’ll find pork in all of its glorious variations here, from Indonesian nasi campur babi and sate babi to bacon grilled cheese sandwiches, pork dumplings, and so much more! Lend a helping hand to make the capital a better place at Clean Up Jakarta Day (Sun)

If you’re a person who complains about how much garbage litters Jakarta’s streets, the question you need to ask yourself is what have you done to help make the capital a cleaner place (we can’t rely on Pasukan Oranye to do everything after all!).

Clean Up Jakarta Day is an annual event for those who want to help take out the trash and show their communities how much they care. It takes place at different clean-up sites throughout the city and is not only a great way to show people you care about the environment, it’s also a great opportunity to meet people who feel the same way. For more info and to register with a clean-up crew, go to http://cleanupjakartaday.org/en/.
