Unfortunately, 12-year-old Indonesian jazz prodigy Joey Alexander won’t be playing at this year’s Java Jazz Festival, but you will be able to see this musical wunderkind perform live soon (if only via streaming from the Internet).
Hot off his Billboard Chart success and his two Grammy nominations, Joey has now been invited to perform at the Premiere Grammy Awards Ceremony (PGAC), as confirmed by the official Grammy website.
But PGAC is different from the actual world-renowned Grammy Awards Ceremony. PGAC is a ceremony that precedes the main one, and features performances from lesser-known, but by no means less talented, musicians compared to the mainstream giants.
Joining Joey are the likes of The Fairfield Four and Tasha Cobbs, Highly Suspect, the Mavericks, and Takacs Quartet.
It’s unlikely that PGAC will be shown on TV here, so if you want to catch Joey’s performance you can stream the ceremony live on grammy.com/live on February 16 starting at 3:30 AM WIB.
