The granddaddy of all annual fairs in the city, the Jakarta Fair, opens today at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
Jakarta Fair 2015 celebrates the city’s 488th anniversary. For the next 38 days, the fair will play host to a variety of exhibitions, trade promotions, concerts, and even amusement rides.
This year, the fair boasts a humongous 120,000 square meters of exhibition space, 1,500 booths, and more than 500 live acts. Some of the country’s most popular entertainers like JKT 48, Sheila on 7, and Agnes Monica will also be performing.
Expect the fair to be crowded, especially on weekends. Last year, close to 5 million people attended the Jakarta Fair in Kemayoran.
