It was only yesterday that we were wondering: what comes after the croffle (croissant waffle)? Some may draw the line at croissant bungeoppang, but we still haven’t run out of uses for the waffle maker, this time in the form of a dessert from Dunkin’ (previously known as Dunkin’ Donuts).

The American coffee and donut chain recently announced the Ddoffle — yes, that means donut waffle — amid the croffle craze. At a relatively affordable price of IDR35,000 (US$2.42) before taxes, you can get three pieces of the Ddoffle in original, cinnamon, and cheese flavors.
However, the only catch is that you can only get your Ddoffles through takeaway orders at the counter from selected Dunkin’ outlets in Jakarta, Bogor, Bandung, Surabaya, and Bali, as listed below:

Aside from Ddoffle, Dunkin’s Bandung branch also launched its own doffle and croffle earlier this month. It’s a tad different from what other Dunkin’ outlets in Indonesia offer, as the Bandung branch separates the toppings from the doffles and croffles. At IDR35,000 for a package, you can get four pieces of doffles or three pieces of croffles with two toppings.

While doffle sounds like the distant cousin of croffle, this isn’t exactly a new invention. We found that the dessert has been around from as early as 2014 when it was known as “wonuts,” which was first created by Waffles Cafe in Chicago following the cronut (croissant donut) trend.
