The Chef Take Over Series at The Hermitage Jakarta’s 1928 Restaurant continues featuring UK-based Indonesian chef Petty Elliott for the month of June.

Through her seven-course tasting menu, Petty celebrates the richness of Indonesian spices and pays tribute to her Manado heritage through modern takes on traditional dishes such as Smoked Octopus Tuturanga, Barramundi Tinorangsak, and Klappertaart mille-feuille, among others. The set course dinner will only be available today, June 10 to Saturday, June 11 at IDR728,000++ per person.

The Indonesian food champion Petty, who was born and raised in Manado, has showcased her passion and love of cooking since she was young and often helped grandmother cook for their family.

Throughout her almost 20-year career, Petty promotes Indonesian cuisine using a modern approach through cooking talks and demonstrations. She also has appeared as a guest chef at prestigious hotels and resorts around the world, served as an executive chef at Nihi Resort Sumba, authored several cookbooks such as Jakarta Bites and writing for international publications, as well as through various activities as an entrepreneur and philanthropist.

Petty’s takeover marks the second Chef Take Over Series at the 1928 Restaurant after the series kicked off with Chef Maxie Millian of Ubud’s Apéritif Restaurant & Bar in May. It highlights the richness of Indonesian cuisine and pays homage to the history as well as the heritage concept of The Hermitage’s art deco building through showcasing the featured chefs and their own family recipes.

The monthly series will welcome the owner and chef of Yogyakarta’s celebrated restaurant Mil’s Kitchen, Mili Hendratno in July followed by award-winning Balinese chef Wayan Kresna Yasa in August.
