What kind of adventurous eater are you? If you just happen to be the type whose appetite won’t be affected even after being lifted dozens of meters off the ground, then you might just be the right person to try out Lounge in The Sky Indonesia early next year.
Lounge in The Sky (LITS) Indonesia is a collaborative project between Mangkuluhur City, a mixed development complex in Jakarta’s Gatot Subroto area, with Dinner in The Sky Asia. Located at Boca Rica Tapas Bar & Lounge at Mangkuluhur City, the experience will commence operations in January 2022 for a limited time — promising stunning 360 degrees view of Jakarta from 45-50 meters high, depending on the weather.
Jakarta will be the third location for Lounge in The Sky after Belgium and Malaysia. This program is a part of Belgium-based Dinner in The Sky, which has lifted people up for their meals in around 60 countries across the globe, and has served about 10,000 dishes since it was founded in the late 2000s.
Guests must be at least 17 years old, 135 centimeters tall and weigh a maximum of 150 kilograms, to try LITS out in Jakarta. They will receive a safety regulation briefing prior to the “flight” and are required to wear seat belts at all times, while the staff will be equipped with safety harnesses.
As for capacity, the lounge can seat up to 32 people and will hold two dining sessions on weekdays at 5pm to 6pm and 6.30pm to 7.30pm; and three sessions on weekends: 5pm-6pm, 6.30pm-7.30pm, and 8pm-9pm. Guests will be served a 4-5 course meal with an appetizer, main course, and dessert during the one-hour dinner. As far as the menu goes, you can expect Indonesian specials like Caesar Salad Balinese Chicken and vegetarian mains like Smashed Avocado Toast.
This unique dining experience will be available for three months, and those who are interested in elevating their dining experience will have to fork out IDR1.6 million for the economy package, IDR2.2 million for business class, and IDR3.7 million for first class. Those price tags might be hefty, but LITS has reportedly gotten at least 5,000 guests on their waiting list. Details on the packages and bookings can be found here.
