You might have seen self-service noodle bars depicted in Korean dramas, and now you can go for the full experience in Jakarta thanks to Goodle Noodle Bar.
The restaurant, launched by importer of Korean goods PT Korinus, opened in PIK on Dec. 3, 2022 and has already built up quite the social media buzz, especially on TikTok.
The concept is simple: you can pick any one (or more) of the nearly 100 instant noodles imported from South Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, as well as local brands. After you check out at the cashier, you can use the store’s appliances to cook your delightful bowl of mie.
Here’s a handy TikTok by the store walking you through the process.
@goodlenoodlebar Sebagai restoran ramen otomatis pertama di Jakarta, wajar kalo Goodies masih bingung gimana cara makan mi instan di Goodle Noodle Bar. Goodle Noodle Bar prides itself as the first store in Jakarta with this concept. However, Medan-based Korean convenience store K3Mart did beat Goodle to the broth in Indonesia, at least, having launched their DIY instant ramen service in early 2022.
Though Goodle Noodle Bar remains tight-lipped on specifics for the time being, a representative has told Coconuts that the restaurant plans to launch more stores in the future.
