Get all the trite Ratatouille jokes out of the way, because there’s really nothing adorable about a rat invading a restaurant, and one Jakarta establishment seems to be handling the matter with the utmost seriousness.

Recently, a patron at the relatively upscale Malay-Chinese heritage cookery Seroeni posted videos of a rat crawling and hopping across tables in the dining area. The patron also discovered a caterpillar — very much still alive — stuck to her lettuce.

The footage was taken at the restaurant chain’s Lippo Mall Puri outlet in Kembangan, West Jakarta.

The restaurant today posted an apology video — one that admittedly has a high production value, presumably to show how seriously sorry they are — announcing the temporary closure of the outlet for thorough disinfecting, pest control, and hygiene training for employees.

“There were no words to say, but for us to act and fix the problem. We truly regret the incident and we promise it won’t happen again,” the post reads.

The restaurant has not set a reopening date.

The city has not issued any statements on Seroeni’s rat scandal.
