We’ve all had our fair share of disappointment when it comes to ordering food and them not turning out as pictured, right? One man in Palopo city, South Sulawesi isn’t quite willing to let slide the experience of receiving a disappointing meal, and is now so “aggrieved” that he plans to sue a giant fast food chain.
The man, identified as Erwin Sandi, posted on his Facebook page earlier this week about the Krunchy Burger he ordered through a food delivery app from a KFC outlet in Palopo. The burger appeared to only feature the fried chicken patty, but sans lettuce and sauce — unlike how the dish is pictured in the chain’s menu.
“Apparently KFC Indonesia is good at tricking their customers,” Erwin wrote in the caption.
Feeling cheated, Erwin tried to contact the outlet in question, who replied by saying that the driver who delivered his food was informed that they had run out of vegetables that day. The staff proceeded to question whether or not Erwin’s driver had communicated with him about the burger’s shortcomings.
“Even after running out of ingredients, you kept selling [the dish]? The order could actually have been canceled, had you refused to sell the product without the vegetables … I wanted to return the product, I wanted to complain. But none of your phone numbers could be reached,” Erwin wrote in a follow-up post.
Online, Erwin said he plans on filing a civil lawsuit at the Palopo District Court. The plan has been met with jeers from netizens, who told him he’s wasting his time over something as trivial as missing lettuce.
“There have been many customers who have won lawsuits against corporations because they were aggrieved. In essence, I fight back because I was aggrieved,” Erwin said.
KFC Palopo says they are seeking a meeting with Erwin to provide clarification for his underwhelming chicken burger.
