Hard Rock Cafe, the multinational chain of bar-restaurants known for their rock and roll memorabilia decor, will soon be a memory in Jakarta.
Instagram account @hrcworldwide, which is dedicated to serving a global community of Hard Rock Cafe fans, announced in a post today that Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta is closing its doors on Friday, March 31, 2023 due to an “apparent dispute with lease.”
Hard Rock Jakarta confirmed the news via direct message to Coconuts Jakarta today.
“For now, we are closing for good and there is no word yet about relocation,” the restaurant’s admin said.
“The Jakarta restaurant is opening until March 31, and after that only the Bali branch will remain open [in Indonesia].”
Hard Rock Cafe Bali is a popular establishment located on the Kuta Beach strip.
The departure of Hard Rock Cafe truly marks the end of an era. The restaurant now occupies a space in Pacific Place Mall in the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD).
Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta first opened in Sarinah in 1992 before it relocated to EX Plaza. The restaurant then closed in 2011 and returned two years later in Pacific Place Mall.
