If even after last week’s Brightspot, you’re still hungry for some hot pop-up action, the “Eat Art Loud” event taking place at Grand Indonesia from today until Sunday should seriously satisfy.
From the same people who put on “I Love Bazaar,” “Eat Art Loud,” as its name suggests, is all about food and art (and maybe loud noises as well?).
The event will feature a local creations from some 100 brands. In addition to F&B treats, you’ll also find vendors (many of whom are primarily based online) selling home living accessories, toys, gifts and general knick-knackery.
One genre of consumer good that is noticeably absent from the event will be fashion items, a refreshing change from many pop-up markets where clothing and accessories dominate the space.
In terms of food, there will be a number of boutique culinary creations and food truck fare on offer, such as seafood from Mr. Crabby and Friends, tacos and ceviche from Latino food truck Machete, and gourmet Indonesian treats like lidah keju from Ibu Dara Culinary Service. There will also be cooking demos, food photography workshops, a “Food Bloggers War” a molecular gastronomy presentation by Ronald Prasanto of Ron’s Laboratory and much more.
The event is subtitled “Brick City,” and the Lego-centric installations, which include a mural, 4-D and trick art (for all your Instagram needs) fulfill the art part of the event’s equation. Even though we’re kind of suffering from pop-up fatigue, it looks like “Eat Art Loud” will have its own unique flavor so we’ll most likely be checking it out this weekend.
The “Eat Art Loud Event” runs today until Sunday on Grand Indonesia West Mall’s 5th floor. Admission is free.
