Are you up for a ballsy surprise?
We hope you didn’t put off your appetite there (but that’s probably on you for seeing innuendo in everything). Indonesia may be late to the Subway game, with its first store opening late last year. Now, as more and more stores are popping up throughout the capital, Subway lovers have been lamenting the lack of an iconic sandwich in Indonesia.
But the wait may soon be over, as Subway Indonesia recently teased a new sandwich on social media. It certainly is hard to imagine the pixelated photo below to be anything other than the sandwich chain’s world-famous meatball sub:
The meatball sub usually consists of beef meatballs, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese. As a nation of bakso (meatball) lovers, we can see the sandwich becoming a hit once it hits the Indonesian shores.
Since the opening of its first outlet at Cilandak Town Square (Citos), South Jakarta in October of last year, Subway currently has 10 subs in their menu, including the Italian B.M.T, Steak & Cheese, and Chicken Teriyaki. Like everywhere else, customers have the option to go for a 6-inch sub or a Footlong.

There are currently 10 Subway outlets in the Greater Jakarta area, including BSD, Gading Serpong, and Karawaci in Banten. The sandwich chain recently opened its ninth store at Mall Kelapa Gading 2, North Jakarta, while its 10th store at Pondok Indah Mall 3 (PIM 3), South Jakarta is open to the public starting today.
