Customs officers at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport arrested a 29-year-old Chinese man, whom they are identifying as YX, on April 26 after finding out he was trying to smuggle a stomach full of illegal narcotics into Indonesia.

The man, who flew to Jakarta via Air China’s Dongguan-Hong Kong route, was found out when customs officials noticed he was acting strangely.

“His movements were suspicious. We conducted an intensive examination when he entered the X-ray,” said Soekarno-Hatta Customs Head Irianto Okto as quoted by Tempo.

As a result of their investigation, customs officials found a clear plastic bag containing 1.96 kg of crystal methamphetamines in YX’s abdomen.

YX will likely face the death penalty for drug smuggling charges.
