Hong Kong Disneyland announces lucky draw winners

Were you one of the many people who signed up for Hong Kong Disneyland’s lucky draw? Not sure if you won? Well you can find out now as the park have revealed who the lucky ticket holders are.

The lucky draw, called More Disney Fun for Everyone in Hong Kong, was announced on November 7 and ended 10 days later.

According to Headline Daily, around one million people applied for one of the 50,000 free tickets up for grabs, which means there were 20 people fighting over each ticket.

People who entered the lucky draw were assigned a reference number, and if your reference number appears on this list, then you have just won a ticket to the magical kingdom.

Winners were also sent an email. Winning tickets are non-transferable, not for re-sale, and must be used during the redemption period listed next to your reference number.

The free ticket giveaway could provide a much-needed boost to visitor numbers at the park, which saw visitor numbers drop by 10 percent to 6.1 million in the year ending October 2016. In the same period, the park reported a loss of HK$171 million (about US$22 million).

It also comes after it was reported that the theme park laid off some of the members of its fireworks staff. It is not clear how many members of the fireworks team there were, but a theme park spokesperson told the SCMP that “fewer than 10” members from the team had been laid off, while some were transferred to other positions.

The temporary suspension of the nightly Disney in the Stars fireworks display is so that expansion work at Sleeping Beauty’s castle can take place. This is part of the HK$10.9 billion (US$1.4 billion) multi-year project which will see new themed areas and attractions being added to the theme park every year for the next six years.
