Almost three months after her death under disturbing circumstances brought attention to the risks faced by Thailand’s models for hire, Thitim “Bell” Noraphanpiphat will be laid to rest this weekend.
A funereal will be held for Thithim, who became known in the wall-to-wall media coverage of her death as “Lunlabelle,” following the completion of a second autopsy which confirmed her cause of death. Conducted jointly by forensic examiners from Ramathibodi, Rajavithi and Police General hospitals, it reaffirmed the conclusion that she died of alcohol poisoning.
The autopsy was conducted at the urging of Thitim’s family to settle questions about what happened to her on Sept. 16, when she lost consciousness at a private party she was paid to attend and died in the company of a man who later left her dead in his condominium lobby.

The new results also confirmed abrasions in Thithim’s pelvic area consistent with sexual assault, according to multiple media reports. No traces of GBH – a psychoactive compound used as a date-rape drug – were reportedly found in her system.
Ceremonies will be held this weekend at Wat Sakae Ngam in Bangkok’s Bang Khun Thian district. The ceremony will start at 7pm on Friday and 1pm on Saturday, announced Kittisak Wongprajan, a close friend of Thitim, on his Facebook page.
While police have said they were still investigating other guests of the Bangkok party where Thitim was last seen alive, word of any developments has gone quiet as media attention has shifted elsewhere.
