A high-profile and self-appointed victim’s rights crusader presented to police today an envelope that he said contained evidence that multiple people raped a popular model found dead two weeks ago.

Without citing any specifics from his alleged evidence, Achariya Ruangrathanapong of the Victims Assistance Club said the envelope contained videos, photos and chat messages proving that 25-year-old Thitim “Bell” Noraphanpiphat was assaulted by several people at the private house party where she was last seen alive.

“We have videos, photos and chats that all relate to one another. We believe that this is pertinent to the investigation and will correlate with forensic examinations,” he told reporters.

Achariya said his evidence would indicate that Thitim died from more than just alcohol. He said that he would not discuss the specifics of the evidence to avoid hindering the ongoing police investigation that has led to seven arrests.

Achariya has no official role in the investigation and the police did not comment beyond accepting his envelope; but nonetheless, it has been widely reported throughout Thai media.

He also claimed late last week on a television talk show that abuse of girls being assaulted at the party were filmed and streamed online.

“There are live videos from the party distributed to members of their group,” he said, vaguely. “Once a pretty comes to their house like Bell, he will make them introduce themselves live. … it gets worse than that, but I can’t detail that right now,” he added.

Regional metro police chief Samrit Tongtao told reporters today that their investigation was about “70% complete” in the kind of back-of-envelope calculation typical to men of his rank.

He also clarified Thitim had wounds to her pelvis area caused by a blunt object. He did not elaborate.

So far seven people have been charged for crimes related to the death of Thitim. Rachadech Wongthabutr, the man who took her home from the party, was arrested Wednesday and charged with counts including false imprisonment and sexual assault. He is currently being held at the Nonthaburi Provincial Court. Authorities say he has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Police then arrested  six others who were present or involved at the party after another woman came forward to say she was likely raped at the same party. She alleges that the hosts got her very drunk, she blacked out and woke up with her clothes removed.

All six have since been freed on bail.
