“High fashion” goes back to basics at the latest New York Fashion Week.

On the runway, former Dior designer Raf Simons showcased his Spring/Summer 2018 menswear collection last week, reminding Thai netizens of a particular look they most often see in the countryside—the classic garb worn by Thai sugarcane farmers.

From the wide-brimmed plaid hats all the way down to the black rubber boots, we’d have a hard time believing he wasn’t inspired by the uniforms of rural Thai farmers.

“Nu Noi Duak,” a Thai Facebook page, posted a collage of the collection that had netizens nearly dying of laughter.

“This is the outfit I wear to sell stuff at the flea market,” user Mattika Pholbutr wrote, and attached this picture.

The page administrator also hilariously commented on this image of a farmer on his tractor, “Which way to New York?”

Seriously, Thai farmers are so stylish.

This is far from the first time high-fashion reminded Thai netizens of their cheap, local goods. This list includes Balenciaga’s bag that looks like it belongs to Thai-Chinese grandpas in Yaowarat, the sarong skirts the Isaan grannys wear, and wrap tops worn by country girls.

But don’t forget this banana leaf evening bag that left us thinking, ‘Is it a clutch or a pad thai?’ and this this striped bag that looks like a THB20 Thai floor mat folded in half.
