Young woman recovers in Denpasar hospital after ex allegedly slit her throat following rejection

A young woman from Sumba was transferred at the ICU to recover at Sanglah Hospital after suffering from serious wounds on her neck and abdomen.

The woman was allegedly attacked after rejecting her ‘ex’ at her home in Pecatu, South Bali. So not cool.

Ita Haumin, 26, was rushed to Kasih Ibu Hospital in Jimbaran then referred to Sanglah in Denpasar because of the seriousness of her wounds. She is understood to be recovering at the moment. Wishing her cepat sembuh

“Ita did not want to be in a serious relationship with Lega,” a friend of Ita and Lega from work explained to Merdeka on Saturday.

Once Lega was rejected, “he directly slashed Ita in the neck and stabbed her in the stomach,” Ita’s friend said.

Based on information gathered by Merdeka, Ita and Lega had been involved for three months. Both had worked at a building shop in Jimbaran.

“It turns out that for three months, they had still been getting close. We all thought they were in a relationship, but it turns out that Lega had wanted a commitment from Ita, but she rejected him,” the friend said.

South Kuta Police Chief Commissioner I Wayan Latra told the press that before the attack, Lega and Ita had been discussing the next step of their relationship. Lega had apparently been carrying a kitchen knife from his kos.

“When they were together, the victim asked for Rp 300,000 from the perpetrator. After the breakup, the perpetrator asked for the money back, but the victim did not want to return it. From there, came the fight and the victim’s neck and stomach were slashed,” Latra told Merdeka.

Though Lega fled after the incident, police managed to track him down and arrest him. Latra says the investigation is still ongoing.
