Young woman dies after driving into parked bus in Kuta, Bali

A 20-year-old from north Bali has died after succumbing to head injuries suffered when running into a bus in Kuta late on Monday night.

Nyawa Kadek Suandewi was reportedly rushed to the emergency room at Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar after the accident but it was apparently too late.

“The victim crashed into a parked bus from behind, probably due to sleepiness,” Tribun Bali quoted an unnamed police source as having said on Tuesday.

Suandewi, who is from Kubutambahan, Buleleng, was riding a motorbike on her way home from work at the popular souvenir shop, Krisna, when she crashed into a bus parked in front of a convenience store at the intersection between Dewi Ruci and the Ngurah Rai By Pass, Tribun Bali reported.

“The victim suffered severe head injuries, had an open wound on her left and right arms and a broken jaw,” Tribun’s police source said.

After Suandewi was declared dead at Sanglah’s ER, she was transferred to the hospital’s morgue.
