A woman accused of stabbing her baby to death in Bali moments after it was born was reportedly arrested over the weekend.
Hariyanti Lendek, 20, was arrested by South Denpasar Police after undergoing treatment at Sanglah Hospital, according to Tribun Bali.
“Because it’s already clear who the culprit is,” the young mother was taken into custody and questioned, South Denpasar Police Chief Nanang Prihasmoko told Tribun on Sunday.
He said the arrest was conducted after Lendek’s condition improved—she had been receiving treatment in the hospital for postpartum hemorrhage.
Reports say Lendek allegedly was ashamed to have her baby alone, since the man who impregnated her had run out on her.
