A man made a horrifying discovery when he went to go to the bathroom in Mengwi, Badung, Bali on Wednesday morning.
Mengwi resident I Nyoman Sudiarsa came across a baby’s corpse when he wanted to defecate near an irrigation channel, reports Tribun Bali.
The 53-year-old suddenly realized the corpse was there when he smelled the stench of blood, so he looked around and found a dead baby boy caught in the flowing water, local neighborhood head I Wayan Sudiaka told Tribun.
This reportedly happened around 6:30 am. From there, Sudiarsa says he directly called the police.
Mengwi Police Chief I Nengah Sumadi told Tribun that he believes that the baby’s corpse had been dumped more than a day ago and has a strong suspicion that the baby is a result of an affair.
Sumadi says the investigation is ongoing.
