A woman was lucky to walk away alive from an accident in Denpasar, Bali on Sunday with a truck carrying LPG canisters.
The Toyota Yaris she was driving was totaled, but Adisti Febriani, 31, suffered only abrasions from the accident on Jl. Gatot Subroto Timur, reports Tribun Bali.
Febriani had been driving at a high speed from the direction of Sanur towards Gatsu Timur, when she tried to pass a garbage truck on the left side of the road, according to I Nyoman Nuryana of Denpasar Police. However, when Febriani tried to pass, she directly collided head on with a truck carrying LPG canisters that was traveling the opposite direction as her, reports Tribun.
“Luckily the LPG canisters being transported by the truck did not explode,” Nuryana told Tribun, adding that they had been scattered and were leaking on the road.
And luckily her reckless driving did not harm the truck driver—the truck driver suffered abrasions on the forehead and was treated at the scene, Nuryana explained, saying that only Febriani was taken to the hospital.
To make matters worse, Nurayana added that Febriani had allegedly been consuming alcoholic beverages before driving, since her breath smelled of alcohol.
