A woman, who has been identified by her initial H, was allegedly stabbed last night by her own husband in Pasar Kreneng, northern Denpasar. Though local residents managed to take her to the local hospital after the incident, H unfortunately died from her wounds.

Police have arrested the suspect, a 38-year-old man identified by his initial R, who claimed that he and H are husband and wife.

“Based on the suspect’s statement, they are still husband and wife. But we are still investigating his statement,” I Wayan Arta Ariawan from the Denpasar Police said today, as quoted by Bali Post.

H and R may have separated, according to a report from Tribun-Bali, which also said that H has recently remarried.

Twenty-eight-year-old H was reportedly stabbed three times. Based on a witness’ account, Kompas.com reported that the two got into a debate before R suddenly stabbed H.

In a video uploaded on Instagram by @punapi.bali, it appears that R may have used a dagger. The man also appeared in the footage wearing a blue motorcycle helmet and a black jacket, as his hands were held by a couple of people.
